Facilitating creative thinking and processes can enhance young people’s experiences in education and in the world, which (in)form them as individuals and as members of society. Art-making can support improvements in attainment, speech and language skills, mood, confidence, engagement, behaviour, group cohesion, staff wellbeing, student mental health, and much more. It can teach young people about independence and integration, about compassion and leadership, and that they have a voice in the world.
I’ve worked as an artist in primary, secondary, alternative, and special education across England, delivering and co-producing arts projects alongside young people and staff.
