In 2025, the British Association for Art Therapists (BAAT) published my ‘Cultivating Creativity Calendar’ , a free and accessible Creative Health resource for young people that it had commissioned me to design, write and produce as part of a wider NHS England project it was delivering to promote the creative therapies.
Rooted in the rhythm of the seasons, the Calendar promotes self-discovery, emotional awareness, and skill-building, including those essential to life like mindfulness and emotional processing – all core aspects of art therapy.
I designed the resource to reflect BAAT’s commitment to making creativity an accessible tool that promotes wellbeing and the benefits of art-making to everyone – things that I really believe in. It was also created to align with key curriculum areas including but not limited to art and specific arts-based subjects including music, drama, English, design and technology, health and care, psychology and more. Finally, I designed it to encourage young people to connect with the natural world, the most wonderful and important asset we have.

If you are a teacher, parent or art therapist, you can download a PDF guide here to using the Cultivating Creativity Calendar to discuss careers in art therapy with young people.
